The project “Developing the African Continental Qualifications Framework (ACQF)” continues the series of peer learning webinars in 2022. This new series focuses on developments and practices in the domain of Recognition of Prior Learning / Validation des Acquis de l’Expérience / Reconhecimento validação e certificação de competências (Reconhecimento de competências adquiridas). Cases shared: a) ACQF Guideline of Validation of Learning; b) European Union - 10 years of experience of Validation of Non-Formal and Non-Formal Learning; c) African country experience: Cape Verde - new developments and practical application.

14th Peer Learning Webinar - RPL / VAE / RVCC (RCA)

Recognition of prior learning is not limited to lower levels of qualifications. Three different country cases show a wide and diverse scope of RPL / VAE in Africa and Europe.

2nd NQF Forum - 2ème Fórum CNC - 2º Fórum QNQ - LUANDA, Angola (5-6 September 2024)

The 2nd NQF Forum addresses 5 themes: innovation of new NQFs; kick-off referencing to ACQF; quality assurance of NQFs; policy instruments for mobility, recognition and portability - RPL, CATS, micro-credentials; greening NQFs; Qualifications and Credentials Platform (QCP) in progress.

2nd Training Week 5-9 September 2022: Skills, Qualifications and Frameworks for Mutual Trust in a Changing World

The second ACQF training week takes place in Johannesburg - South Africa, as a hybrid event. Participants will interact with world class speakers, share their experiences, and engage in practical and hands-on sessions to develop and strengthen their knowledge and skills on a range of issues related with the conditions and enablers of transparency of qualifications and mutual trust between qualifications frameworks in a changing world. Themes of the training programme: national and regional qualifications frameworks, quality assurance, digitalisation and development of qualifications, recognition of learning and qualifications, online registers of qualifications, novel approaches to labour market intelligence, monitoring and evaluation, and referencing to ACQF.

3rd ACQF Forum: RPL for Practitioners

The 3rd continental “Forum of the institutions of National Qualifications Frameworks", is organised in partnership with the African Union, African countries, Regional Economic Communities. This workshop is co-organised with Kenya National Qualifications Authority (KNQA), and will take place in Nairobi, from 1 to 4 October 2024, at the Hotel Fairview. The workshop languages are English, French, and Portuguese. Streaming is available to ensure wider participation.

ACQF Mission to Cameroon: Launch of a Pilot on Validation of Prior Learning (VAE)

As part of ACQF Phase II, the African Continental Qualifications Framework (ACQF) is supporting Cameroon in the design and implementation of a pilot system for the Validation of Prior Learning (VAE). The initiative aims to recognise skills and competences acquired through work and life experience, with particular attention to informal workers, women, and adults without formal qualifications.

ACQF QCP: Automated publication webinar

This ACQF-QCP workshop is focused on the automated import and publication methods of qualifications. The session is particularly targeted at countries that have an already existing database of qualifications.
